Description |
The DFA project is designed to simultaneously improve the nutrition of school children and the economic status of female food vendors at schools in Ho, Ghana. Female vendors will be provided with 50 USD loans to purchase healthy food and attend workshops on hygienic cooking and financial planning. Money from the repaid loans will provide school fees to children and support training of other vendors. A small group of women from the original group will join project administrators in the redistribution of the loans. VGIF will fund workshops and loans to 235 school vendors. |
Update |
This project aims to improve the nutrition of school children and increase the economic capacity of female food vendors at schools in Ho. 50 vendors were trained in nutrition and hygiene and the fundamentals of bookkeeping and business management. Each received a small loan to be repaid within six months by small amounts each day. An increase in food prices makes it difficult for the vendors to pay on time. Divine Favor is confident that despite the challenges, the project will be a success. |
